DisplayFunction in MMA 7

Hallo,

bis MAMA 5.2 war es üblich eine Grafikausgabe mit DisplayFunction -> 
Identity zu unterdrücken und dann mit DisplayFunction->$DisplayFunction 
unter Show wieder auszugeben:

sinplot=Plot[Sin[x],{x,-2\[Pi],2 \[Pi]},DisplayFunction->Identity]
Show[sinplot,DisplayFunction->$DisplayFunction]



Das geht mit MAMA 7 nicht mehr. Leider erhalte ich oft gar keine Grafik 
mehr.

Was mache ich falsch?
